Books I've Loved: Erotic Romance
More Hot Stuff
I think I've mentioned this beforeI'm not a huge fan of short stories or anthologies. So when I saw that Wild, Wicked, and Wanton by Jaci Burton was three short stories, each about three friends, I wasn't thrilled to read it. However, I would now like to formally state that I should have been thrilled because it was a great erotic tale.
Like I said, Wild, Wicked, and Wanton is three stories about three best friends. The characters were lively and entertaining, and the sex scenes were steamy. What more can you ask for?
Hot
Wicked Ties was hot. Don't pick up this book if you're underage. Or if you have a heart condition.
Aside from the sizzling sex scenes, the heroine and hero have great chemistry. My only complaint was that some of the arguments between the hero and heroine felt repetitive, but the great sex scenes made up for that. Often in erotic romances, the secondary characters are underdeveloped, but that wasn't the case here. I loved all the characters.
And I can't wait to read Shayla's next book, Decadent.
Erotic Romance
Like I said above, I've been jonesing for different, fun reads. So I thought I'd bone up, as it were, on some erotic romance. Ergo High School Reunion by Kimberly Dean.
I absolutely loved it. Sure, the sex was hot as you'd expect. But, in addition, the characters were lovable (especially Hawk), the storyline was fun, and the dialogue was engaging. All in all, it was thoroughly entertaining. I was sad when I finished it, but I'm looking forward to reading it again. I hope Kimberly comes out with another book soon (yeah, I'm not too subtle with my hints).
Warning: Hot
There is only one thing I can say about Strip Search by Shelley Bradley: way steamy.
About a guy, Mark, who goes undercover as a dancer in a Vegas strip club to determine whether or not the owner, Nicola, is using her business to launder money for her mafia uncle. Mark has his own demons and, of course, Nicola and her situation hit close to home. Nicola is a great mix of independent, sassy, and vulnerable.
Did I mention this book was steamy?
Read Me
Although you can't tell by this page, I've read lots of books recently. Lots. But this area is devoted to books I absolutely love and, while I liked most of the books I read, I didn't love them. Except for Tempt Me, Taste Me, Touch Me by Bella Andre.
Three friends set out for a girls' weekend in Napa. Instead of spending it at the spa like they'd planned, they end up on individual adventures of the steamy kind. Wine, food, and hot studsthe only other thing you could ask for would be a sexy story with great characters. Tempt Me, Taste Me, Touch Me delivers on all counts.
Hot: Handle with Care
I don't know what I was expecting when I started reading The Irish Devil by Diane Whiteside. I guess I figured it'd be sexykind of. And entertainingkind of.
I was wrong (revel in thischances are you'll never hear these words from me ever again). I totally underestimated The Irish Devil. It was hot and intriguing from the get-go, and the characters were rich with layers. Plus there's this scene with silk scarves...
A Sexy Romp
I've always wanted to use the phrase "a sexy romp" and Truth or Dare is the perfect book for it.
So I bought Truth or Dare a while back. I set it aside so I could revel in the anticipation of reading it. I do that with books I'm looking forward to reading. (Yeah, I'm kind of odd.)
I wasn't disappointed. It is a sexy romp. The story's an adventure about a woman who wants more in life than just work: she wants sex. She treats herself to a singles cruise and meets the perfect loveronly she doesn't know he's investigating her for theft. What's great is while Truth or Dare lives up to its claim of being sensual, it's also emotional and the Happy Ever After is satisfying.
A Sexy Trio
I don't like short stories or anthologies. That said, I loved Somebody's Lover by Jasmine Haynes.
So, in typical Kate fashion, I set out to figure out why exactly this anthology hit the spot, so to speak, when so many others just leave me going "Eh." Partly, it was the well developed characters who changed during the course of their story. Partly, it was the sexiness (as you know, I love spice). Mostly, I think it was because the stories were interconnectedall about three brothersso they didn't seem disjointed or short. Anyway, Somebody's Lover was utterly satisfying. I can't wait to read more from Jasmine.
