My odontoglossom (a fancy orchid) died in a freak heat wave we had, I'm still golfing, and the release date for my next book has been moved up to February 2009.

Did you notice I didn't post any news items in May? It wasn't necessarily because I didn't have news to report (although I, in fact, didn't) but because I was so slammed with work that I didn't have time.

I've taken up golf. Also, Nate bought me an odontoglossum (a fancy orchid) two weeks ago and I haven't killed it yet. Good news, indeed.

Sound the trumpets! We've accepted a two-book deal from Grand Central (the publisher formerly known as Warner, now part of the Hachette Group). More details to come—keep an eye on the blog—but in brief, it's a paranormal romance about an artist who inherits the Guardianship of a powerful ancient Chinese scroll.
